Shades in Asda

Whilst doing the weekly ritual food shop at Asda this week, I decided to detour and take a wonder down the beauty isle, usually an isle I steer clear of - one because it is pricey and two because my husband tells me “ITS TOO PRICEY” – it’s very rare we agree on things. However, I headed down regardless. Much to my amazement, I see peeping back at me, the new Shades toner which I only recognised due to seeing it popping up on my Facebook that everyone is obsessing over. As we all know, being the true blondie that I am, I found it extremely difficult to not pick up a box and investigate just that little bit further. It is so hard to find any at home toner these days that keeps your hair on trend and most of all, affordable. But there they were three shades of beautifulness; silver, lilac and pink screaming to be bought. On a whim, I decided to buy the silver lining and give it a go. Slightly reluctant though about the product quality seen as the price (£3.99) was so cheap.

As many other blondes out there will know, it is a strict routine to ensure your hair never goes the typical brassy yellow undertone and how these routines can often be very time consuming as well as costing and absolute fortune. If this meant I could stop having to spend X amount of money at the hairdressers every 6 weeks. It was a winner, especially in the hubby’s eyes! So off I headed home, food shop done, Shades London toner ready for trial!

Firstly, following the instructions on the box, I carried out a patch test on my skin and a strand test on my hair as recommended ensuring I didn’t have an allergic reaction to the product. This should be a must in everyone’s eyes; nobody wants to end up with hair like Cruella! I applied a small amount of product to a strand on the back of my hair and left it for an hour and washed it off. 24 hours later I had NO irritation, the colour left behind was a gorgeous icy silver lock of hair. So I was good to go!

A quick tip with this product, do not fear the bright blue your hair will sit whilst developing, this is just the toner working its magic. It is meant to look that colour before washing away. After shampooing and rinsing I worked the product into my towel dried hair. I covered my hair from the roots to the tip and massaged it into my hair until I was certain every strand of hair was covered. I left it in my hair for 15 minutes to allow the colour to fully develop and then thoroughly rinsed through with warm water. No salon experience is required to follow these steps, so no need to worry guys and dolls, people of all abilities can achieve this look by just sticking to the simple steps.

I flicked my hair back from the towel, looked in the mirror and was in awe with the results. I shot to the hairdryer and got styling away! Amazingly my hair colour had transformed from a light bleached blonde to a cool grey. The colour was a rich metallic silver with cool undertones powering through, blooming perfect as silver/grey is the must have hair trend of 2017! I was ecstatic! I could not recommend this product more. For the price and for the quality I cannot fault it.

The best thing about it is that it is a semi-permeant hair toner; this semi permeant hair colour allows you to wash out the hair colour in 10 washes or less. What better excuse is there to get trying the other colours in the Shades London range! This easy, minimum fuss allows you to achieve salon quality results within the comfort of your own home, fab for a mum of 2, rushed off her feet wife like myself. It means less trips to the salon for me and instead being able to do my hair at home whilst lounging in my joggers, occupying the kids and prepping tea.

So ladies it you want to switch up your hair this autumn/winter give Shades London Toner a go! You will not be left disappointed.
